Meet The Team

Dr. Aliaksandr “Sasha” Kurshuk

Dr. Kurshuk has been practicing orthodontics in various settings since 2011. He graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry with Highest Distinction and has completed specialized post-graduate education in orthodontics. For his academic achievements, he was awarded an advanced degree of Master of Science in Dentistry. During the course of his dental education, Dr. Kurshuk participated and presented his research at numerous national and international scientific meetings. As a part of the post-graduate curriculum, our orthodontist was educated in treating TMJ disorders as well as utilizing braces, Invisalign, and dentofacial orthopedics to correct dental and jaw misalignment.

Dr. Kurshuk is certified by the American Board of Orthodontists and is duly licensed as an orthodontic specialist in the states of Michigan and Indiana. He is also an active member in many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including:

Dr. Kurshuk was born in an Eastern European country, the Republic of Belarus, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master of Arts degrees in Teaching and Linguistics. When he is not in the office, Dr. Kurshuk enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, biking, camping, skiing, reading, and attending continuing education orthodontic courses.

I am a Michigan native who grew up fishing and boating in the beautiful north country. I attended school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and enjoyed the city life for a decade before returning to my roots. In my spare time, I enjoy finding new trails to walk with my dogs, baking, and going on adventures with my beloved daughter. I am grateful to be a part of a talented orthodontic practice whose team members expertly combine compassion for our patients and one another with an unfailing commitment to excellence in care.

Hi there! I've been lucky enough to be a lifelong resident of the Petoskey area, having graduated from Petoskey High School in 2010. I'm also a proud mom of two wonderfully wacky kids and a pup named Hunter. Teeth have always been a significant interest of mine, and I feel fortunate that the opportunity to work for this office presented itself. Now, nearly eight years into this role, I genuinely enjoy witnessing the various cases I have assisted Dr. Kurshuk with. I have experienced many joyful moments with my patients as I celebrated their successful outcomes. Outside of work, my husband and I are actively involved in building our home, which we anticipate completing by the end of 2025. We have a lively two-year-old daughter who brings much joy to our lives. Additionally, we have two dogs, a Great Dane and a Blue Heeler, and a kitten that has gradually become our daughter's best friend.
